A distinguished lineup of speakers will discuss the benefits of integrating Light Induced Visual-response (LIV)™ testing into routine clinical practice.
Diopsys Inc, the world leader in objective, functional vision testing, announces its lineup of educational initiatives and lectures during the upcoming American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) meeting, October 27-30, 2018, in Chicago.
An evening cocktail reception with a lecture delivered by Suber Huang, MD, MBA on “Use of Flicker ERG in the Retina Office: DR and CRVO” will kick-off the Master Lecture Series on Friday, October 26th. In addition, Diopsys will host several booth lectures (#1547), featuring a diverse array of faculty discussing practical applications of Light Induced Visual-response (LIV)™ testing in ophthalmic practice. Complete information about the Master Lecture Series is below.
“LIV testing is both underappreciated and underutilized in modern eye care, despite that it is the only testing that gives us objective information about retinal function,” said Steven Silverstein, MD, who will deliver one of the talks in the Master Lecture Series. “The data from this testing is important in my clinic for managing and following patients with a wide assortment of eye diseases.”
“Providing robust learning opportunities for clinicians has always been a top priority for us,” said Matthew Emmer, Vice President, Clinical Affairs for Diopsys. “Attending our lectures provides a unique chance to learn how experts use this testing routinely in their practices.”
Throughout the meeting, the company will continue to introduce attendees to the various types of LIV testing available on Diopsys NOVA™, ARGOS™ and RETINA PLUS™ platforms. LIV tests measure the electrical responses of cells within the eye upon stimulation by a light source. Various stimuli can be used to target different cells within the visual pathway to gain objective information about their function, thus allowing clinicians to detect even subtle changes in cell health and viability.
